About Locking

Cantax FormMaster provides three types of locking:

Locking data

You can lock data to prevent it from being changed during a work session. Once data is locked, new information cannot be entered but you can still display, print and transmit the client file.

Password protection

Locking files with a password allows you to protect access to client files. When a file is password-protected, it cannot be opened or printed without providing the correct password.

If you often work with password-protected files, Cantax FormMaster allows you to store passwords within a password list. This feature means that you no longer have to enter passwords in order to open client files.

Read-only access

When working on a network, several users may try to open the same file at the same time.

If you try to open a file that someone is already working on, you will receive a message indicating that the file is currently in use by another user.
